Report an Air Quality Concern or Violation

The Maricopa County Air Quality Department (MCAQD) relies on citizens to assist in the regulation of air quality within Maricopa County. If you see anyone violating air quality or dust control standards, please use one of the following options to report an air quality concern or violation.

  • The air quality hotline is 602-372-2703 and it is available from 8:00 a.m. -  5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday, with voicemail available outside of business hours.
  • To report smoking vehicles, use the Smoking Vehicle Complaint Form.
  • To report dust from construction sites or vacant lots, improper gaseous emissions from businesses, illegal surface coating or painting, illegal open burning or burning on a no burn day, or any other air quality concerns, use the Air Quality Violations Report Form.
The MCAQD only has jurisdiction within Maricopa County. Any reports of concerns or violations that are outside of the County boundary must be directed to the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ).
